NORTH STATION INTERMODAL
TRANSPORTATION CENTER
The MBTA’s subway, bus and commuter rail facilities at North Station form the cornerstone of a renewal effort in the historic Bulfinch Triangle District of Boston’s West End. The $100 million project provides a new Green Line/Orange Line subway station; new commuter rail facilities; and schematic design proposals for the development of two air-rights parcels. Julie Jones was the lead architect working for Wallance Floyd and directed the architectural and engineering design of the underground Green Line-Orange Line Station. On behalf of the MBTA, She liaised with other agencies, developers and community groups. Ms. Jones carefully coordinated complex issues with regard to structure, traffic, and ongoing construction in order to meet MBTA’s demand for uninterrupted service.
